AT&T is Pretty Stupid
So I’ve been a “valued” AT&T customer for over 3 years now. I’m grandfathered into the unlimited data plan for my iPhone because I’ve been with them for so long. Now I’m leaving for England in 2 days, and I won’t be needing my American phone number for an entire year. However, I would gladly pick up where I left off and continue dishing out my money to AT&T for their overpriced service upon my return to America.
AT&T wouldn’t like that though. AT&T wants me to pay them $10 a month for a 6 month period of inactivity…which okay. It’s not so bad if it is supposed to hold my phone number for me. But then, they want essentially $50 a month for every month after that.
ARE THEY INSANE?!
I’m not even using their service. I’m abroad. How thick can a company be? I’m only allowed to suspend my number for 6 months? Even in this circumstance? To a loyal customer? Wow. That’s a pretty idiotic business move. Because they can’t budge from their greedy ways and rules, they are going to be missing out on a customer’s continued support and money albeit deferred a year later. They’d rather have me cancel my plan and never give them my money again than wait a year for me to come back from my studies abroad. What a stupid company. Wow. In England I can get for $15 a month exactly what AT&T gave me for $75 a month. Guess it’s not so bad to leave the money-grubbing company after all. They have forever lost my service. Way to go.
